The Secret Meeting +Fringe

The Secret Meeting +Fringe

Last week we got some great news out of the blue. Fox's show Fringe is using "Am I Here?" from our Secret Meeting album Ultrashiver in promos for season 4 of the show.

Someone uploaded one of the promo spots on YouTube here, if you want to check it out.

It's a great opportunity for us, and we're very excited about it! We hope it will help expose our music to a whole new audience, and re-introduce The Secret Meeting to everyone.

In case you weren't following our news from a few years ago, The Secret Meeting was a project we did in 2007 with Dean Garcia (of Curve, SPC-ECO, and many other projects).

As The Secret Meeting, we released the album Ultrashiver, as well as 2 singles, Shooting Laser Beams, and Shiver X

New Collide album

New Collide album

Hellooooooooooooooo,

It has been a while since our last update, so we thought we would take a minute to let you know what is going on in Collide world.

We are very excited to say that we have been hard at work on a new album and things are definitely moving along !!!

We have nine songs on the go entering the final stages. They still need to be finalized, tweaked, and then tweaked some more. Artwork still needs to be done etc....so really still a lot of work involved.

We have no actual release date yet, as we never let go of anything until we know in our hearts that it is the best that we could have made it.

Again, we want to thank the people who made a donation towards making this new CD a possibility. We are eternally grateful and this CD will be dedicated to those people (you know who you are).

For those of you who have asked...yes you still get your name on the CD...most definitely!!! Right up until we go to print and we will let you know as soon as that happens.

More details about getting your name on the CD are here:

Games Without Frontiers

Donate to get a free song!!!!

We're trying something kind of new.

We're trying to raise funds to cover the costs of recording and working on our new album.

For your donation, you will receive an unreleased Collide mp3. It's our version of Peter Gabriel's song "Games Without Frontiers" that we made especially for this. It won't be on the new album, and the only place you will be able to get it is by donating on our store.

With any donation of $20 or more, you will also get your name in the credits of our new album, as a special supporter.

And now some background on Collide, and to anyone who isn't familiar with how me make music:

Beyond Fantasy Magazine interview

Beyond Fantasy Magazine interview

Collide is featured in the latest issue of Beyond Fantasy Magazine. A magazine for the 21st century dreamer!!! Great magazine and stunning photos.

It's a very nice full color magazine printed on very nice paper...the way magazines should be. Our interview is four pages long, and contains some pretty funny moments...like why Statik would like to be a rat with wings, or why kaRIN wants an evil monkey.

Meanwhile, we've been a bit quiet lately, as we're busy in the studio, writing songs for a new Collide album.

"Breathe" + "Time" Videos

"Breathe" + "Time" Videos

We have uploaded a couple of videos to our YouTube page. They were done while we were filming our acoustic sessions for our "Like the Hunted" DVD in 2005. After we finished our songs, kaRIN, Roger, and Scott did a few impromptu jams with Statik filming and recording. This was one of our inspirations for our last album "These Eyes Before".

"Breathe" was filmed first, and the guitar parts in the video were used in the final album version of the song, and "Time" was filmed right after. The video we put up was the first and only take of it. They were both "off the cuff", there's some goofs, and they're not perfect, but we hope you like them!

These Eyes Before special downloads

These Eyes Before special downloads

We've put up a couple of new download items on our store. Each is only $4.99. One contains instrumental versions of all of the songs from "These Eyes Before", and one contains Acapella (vocal only) versions.

Each download contains a special "bonus" track. One has an Angelic Mix of Creep, and the other has an Orchestral Mix of Comfortably Numb.

Maybe you want to listen to kaRIN without any of Statik's noise getting in the way, maybe you want to sing along to the songs without kaRIN's vocals getting in the way? Either way, we have something here for you. Enjoy!!

Nocturnal Magazine

Nocturnal Magazine

We start 2010 with the greatest news. Collide is appearing on the cover of the 72 page U.K. magazine Nocturnal. It is the most Collide-filled magazine we have ever seen! Besides the cover, there's a four page interview, a two page piece on kaRIN's Saints & Sinners Clothing and Accessory line, and a review of "These Eyes Before". You also get a free downloadable compilation album, which includes our version of David Bowies's "Space Oddity".

We really must thank Steven Hurst for all of his efforts and writing to make this happen....wooo-hooooo!

To download the magazine, go here. It does require users to create a login (which is purely for their own stats, no strings attached). The cost for the issue is only about $1, which can be paid by paypal. Not a bad deal, considering you also get the 12-song album!

The Mick

The Mick

Collide is on the cover of The Mick. This is a very cool interview with Mick Mercer who is the world's leading writer on the goth and punk subcultures and their history. The interview goes into depth what went into the choosing of the songs on These Eyes Before.

Also, check out The Mick's holiday issue where a bunch of bands (including ourselves, and the members of SPC-ECO) list their favorite Christmas presents and tell ghost stories =)."

It's a free downloadable magazine. Check it out here
